The Bible is clear about lying. Between the 9th Commandment telling us to not bear false witness against our neighbor and lying being one of the seven things God hates, lying clearly is not an acceptable behavior. But is it really that easy? What about hiding or speaking partial truth or deception? And what about exaggeration, is that lying?<br />

In a recent podcast we observed some complicating biblical details. Sometimes, God himself advised deception or the telling of a partial truth. Why would He do that? The key point here is context. God did NOT contradict His own character, but he DID give us specific guidelines and examples to adhere to in unusually difficult situations.<br />
